Ballot Measures
INITIATIVE
The revenues from any
contract for sale of water generated electric power produced by a public agency
in which the County has an interest shall only be used for the benefit and capital
needs of water-related agencies and districts in the County and including the
County, such as fire suppression, water infrastructure, water quality,
treatment and conveyance including waste water and septic, and power
infrastructure projects for the benefit of the citizens of Placer County after
February 2013.
Should any board or
political agency propose a change of the use of such revenues for any other
purpose the issue shall be presented to the board of supervisors for review,
and if approved, the proposal shall be placed before the voters for approval or
rejection at a regular County election.

POWER
FOR PEOPLE (PFP) INITIATIVE
Promoted by the League of Placer
County Taxpayers, the Power for People (PFP) Initiative is being circulated
for placement on the ballot for voters to enact into law. PFP will benefit all
Placer County residents for 20 to 50 years by helping fund needs and State
mandated provisions for fire protection, water quality and treatment, waste
water, septic and power infrastructure projects in Placer County and prevent
State seizure of the funds for other uses. PFP funds are generated from the
sale of water-generated electricity in Placer County and vary annually with the
amount of rain and snowfall. Only a vote of the people could permit the money
transfer to the County General Fund.

3) Anyone may circulate the
petition, but only registered Placer County voters may sign.
